Our Story

GreenBlades started in a small Canadian workshop where a few neighbours shared an idea: lawn care can be effortless, dependable, and cleaner. From Vancouver Island to Newfoundland and Labrador, we’ve listened to homeowners facing short summers, long winters, and everything in between. We built plans that fit Canadian climates, schedules, and budgets.

What began as seasonal help is now a coast‑to‑coast approach to thoughtful yard care, upgraded with clean equipment and tuned to local regulations and weather patterns.

Mission & Promise

Our mission is to simplify lawn care while reducing emissions per cut. We combine reliable service, battery‑first tools, and scheduling that respects the short Canadian growing season. Every appointment is an opportunity to leave your yard—and the air—better than we found them.

  • Make professional care accessible across urban, rural, and remote communities.
  • Prefer quiet, efficient, low‑emissions equipment wherever feasible.
  • Be transparent about performance, pricing, and environmental impact.

Values that guide every visit

  • Care for people

We respect your time, your property, and your neighbours.

  • Care for place

We plan around local bylaws, noise rules, and growing conditions.

  • Care for planet

We cut carbon with battery‑first equipment and efficient routes.

  • Care for craft

We deliver consistent lines, healthy turf, and tidy edges.

Team principles

  • Safety first

Equipment checks and safe handling every morning.

  • Precision passes

Measured lines, consistent heights, clean edges.

  • Respect the weather

Scheduling that protects turf health during heat or rain.

  • Leave no trace

Clippings managed, gates closed, walkways blown clear.

Carbon‑Savings Calculator — Canada

Estimate seasonal CO2e savings when switching away from a gas mower. Uses provincial grid intensities and realistic mowing times.

Province or territory

Grid intensity affects electric mower emissions.

Ontario (ON)

Equipment

Compare against a gas mower baseline.

Electric mower

Lawn area (m²)

300

Tip: typical suburban lot ranges 200–600 m².

Mows per month

3

Most regions average 2–4 per month during growing season.

Season length (months)

6

Many Canadians mow from May to October.

Minutes per 100 m²

7

7 min/100 m² = ~35 min for 500 m².

Assumptions used

  • Gas mower baseline ≈ 2.3 kg CO2e/hour of operation.
  • Electric mower ≈ 1.2 kWh/hour; emissions depend on provincial grid intensity.
  • Manual reel mower assumed 0 operational CO2e.
